The new version PDiff 3.7.8 has been released. New features in this release of the text-based PDF comparison solution are among others:

  • NEW: Pages without extractable text content (e.g. due to missing OCR) create a warning in the GUI header and a corresponding note in the report
  • Fix: The render flag underline recognition could yield to an endless loop when loading certain input PDFs (with deeply recursive ressource dicts)
  • Fix: When setting the option Comparison > Text Coordinate Tolerance exactly to the value 0,0pt, the comparison of text coordinates was falsely turned off even when the the option Comparison > Text Coordinates must match was turned on
  • Fix: In the report created with the function Save Report, projects with many exclusion areas or many style differences could yield to an error message (due to failed page breaks)
Version 3.7.7:
  • Fix: Function Clipboard > Paste creates multi-page PDF files for longer text content
  • Fix: In the report created with the function Save Report non-portrayable characters are displayed by their Unicodes [U+xxxx]

PDiff shows you quickly and reliably all text differences between two PDF documents – as a comparison of the two PDFs and with markings of the deviations. So you can check intended revisions quickly and find unintended changes at first glance.
